The Phantom was released in 1996 with Billy Zane playing Lee Falk’s “immortal” superhero. Lee Falk created The Phantom and the character first appeared in a newspaper comic strip in February of 1936. In 1943, The Phantom made it to the screen in Columbia Pictures’ 15-episode serial The Phantom starring Tom Tyler as “The Phantom”.
The MacArthur (aka The Park Plaza Hotel) is the New York Museum of World History. Treat Williams portrays the villian Xander Drax.
The zoo is the old Los Angeles Zoo now a picnic area in Griffith Park.
