Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe Serial Film Locations
This 1940 twelve chapter movie serial from Universal Pictures stars Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon. Buster Crabbe, also, played Buck Rogers in Universal’s 1939 serial. Alex Raymond created Flash Gordon as a comic stripe for King Features Syndicate to compete with the success of the Buck Rogers comic strip.
Parts of the serial were filmed at Red Rock Canyon State Park in California. Interestingly, this is, also, where the Buck Rogers serial was filmed.
Most of the locations are off of the Hagen Trail. Park in the lot and then follow the trail towards the area referred to as the Dome Rock and the Acropolis.
