Charles Band’s 1984 Trancers starring Tim Thomerson as Jack Deth was filmed throughout Los Angeles.
After waking up in his ancestor’s body (Phil), Jack Deth gives Leena (Helen Hunt) a drive to her work at the Panorama Mall in Panorama City.
Santa ‘trances’ and Jack Deth has to take him out. Hence, why Trancers should be considered a Christmas movie.
Jack eventually has to save washed-up Angeles baseball player, Hap Ashby, from being killed. Hap Ashby has taken up residence on the streets in industrial area of downtown Los Angeles. At one point, Jack and Hap escape from Whistler and his minions by driving down the Fourth Street Bridge stairs.
Leena and Jack Deth are residing in Chinatown Central Plaza as Leena is housesitting for a friend. The showdown at the end between Whistler and Jack Deth takes place in the Plaza.
