The Baby (1973) Film Locations

“Pray you don’t learn the secret of… The Baby”

This is a creepy tagline. And after watching the movie, Ann Gentry should not be considered a poster child for Los Angeles Social Workers. I’m sure she broke all the established regs and norms of a social worker.

After watching Messiah of Evil, with the delightful Marianna Hill, I did a cursory scan of her filmography and came across this unsettling gem from 1973. Netflix has been streaming the movie, so I was in luck. As a suggestion, try a double feature of Messiah of Evil and The Baby. They will not disappoint you.

Ann Gentry (Anjanette Comer) has recently started her social work career. And, she pushes for a new case with the mysterious Wadsworth family. She shows a peculiar interest in the youngest member who is simply called the baby. I don’t want to reveal anymore. There are scenes that are very uncomfortable and unsettling. No gore, minimal blood, no jump scares. Yes, I am appropriating a word from my kiddos and their infatuation with Five Night at Freddy‘s. The ending caught me off guard. It was not where I thought the story was going.

On a recent drive, which took me through Hancock Park. I pulled over to snap a shot of Ann’s house. Still have not tracked down the Wadsworth home.
