Mystery Men Film Locations
The movie starts with The Red Eyes gang terrorizing a retirement center in Champion City. The MacArthur (The Elks Lodge No. 99 / Park Plaza Hotel) serves as the retirement center. In 1983, the City of Los Angeles designated the building as City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department Historic-Cultural Monument No. 267. The building has appeared in countless movies, television shows, and commercials.
After Captain Amazing takes down The Red Eyes gang, the group heads to the Lakeside Diner to discuss their failings. They run into the leaders of the Disco Boys when leaving the diner. I took the comparison photo awhile back before the demolition of the 6th street bridge. It was the bridge’s arcs that provided me a clue to the location.
The Blue Raja’s house, where Jeff lives with his mother, is located in Angelino Heights. Of course, the Sanders House is famously known as the “Thriller” house from Michael Jackson 1984 music video “Thriller”. Wandering this street, you’ll, also, come across the “Halliwell Manor” from the TV Show “Charmed”.
After a slight victory against Casanova Frankenstein, the Mysery Men head out to Hop Louie to celebrate.
Later in the movie, the Sphinx trains the Mystery Men at the Los Angeles County Arboretum
