Dr. Alien Film Locations
I originally watched this movie back in High School because of Judy Landers. Typical 80s teen sex comedy with a sci-fi element.
In the beginning of the film, Dr. Ackerman (Troy Donahue), the high school biology teacher, crashes his car one night after encountering a UFO. That’s the old 6th Street Bridge that was torn down. I had visited the area years back and took a lot of pictures from various films.
This is the latest on the new bridge:
“The new bridge had been due to open in early 2019, then in 2020. Now completion is expected in 2022. At groundbreaking the project was budgeted at $420 million. By 2019, that had risen to $482 million. Today the project website states the project cost at $588 million – a 40 percent cost overrun.” – Oct 27, 2020 by Joe Linton
Wesley Littlejohn (Billy Jacoby), see the what they did with the last name, is the nerd hero and he attends a high school that looks and seems more like a college. This was filmed at Cypress College.
Ms. Xenobia (Judy Landers) is the new biology teacher and Wesley takes part in her experiments. He is transformed into quite the lady’s man. From nerd to Johnny Bravo. The Littlejohn neighborhood is in Whittier.
As Wesley becomes “cooler” he takes on a school bully in a drag-race. The area is close to the the same area that Dr. Ackerman died at the beginning of the movie. The area is around the intersection of S. Anderson St. and Jesse St. in downtown Los Angeles.
