Jeffrey Combs and Brian Thompson in a Full Moon take on the Marvel Universe way back in 1992.

The Hills Brothers Building serves as the police station in the movie. The building was constructed in 1929 by architect George H. Kelham for the San Francisco-based Hills Bros. Coffee. You’ll recognize it as it portrays a police station in a lot of film and television.

Brain Thompson plays the evil wizard Kabal who wants to open the gates to Hell. Dr. Mordrid and Kabal have a climatic battle at the “Cosmopolitan Museum”. They re-animate dinosaurs and mastodon skeletons. Of course the good guy wins.

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County’s historic portico entrance and rotunda were used as locations.
