Columbia Memorial Space Center and Challenger Learning Center
For those space fans, do yourself a solid and visit this the Columbia Memorial Space center and Challenger Learning Center in Downey. It is a nonprofit educational organization with its headquarters in Washington DC. This facility is a memorial to the crews of both the space shuttle Columbia, lost in 2003, and the Challenger, lost in 1986. Although the museum is more geared toward young children, it is worth a visit.
